Thursday 22nd April - walk ***** - Orwell Country Park near Ipswich – sunny and mild.

The good weather continues here in Felixstowe but less wind so it was either a bike or walk today. After a morning at home, well Mag went to a couple of shops and came back with loads of bargain plants we decided on a walk. With a oicnic packed we drove the ten lies to one of our favourites, Orwell Country Park on the out skirts of Ipswich hoping to see the bluebells in the woods. Sadly, we were probably a week early and there were only a few bluebells but it still looked lovely walking through the woods quickly spotting a long-tailed tit and some squirrels. We ambled down to the River Orwell and the tide was very low, the bridge looked impressive set against a deep blue sky with vibrant green leaves and blossom on the trees:) We found a sheltered spot for our picnic as there was a bit of a breeze blowing down the river with a few yachts out and about! This is a beautiful spot and are so lucky to live here in Suffolk with boats moored on the river and Harkstead tower directly opposite just perfect! Then a large coaster came under the bridge heading out to sea, amazing there was enough water with such a low tide! Then we carried on under the bridge following the footpath that runs near to the noisy A 14. Then home via the cliff top car park just to check the conditions and it did not look windy enough for foiling, perhaps tomorrow and then the weekend too :)
